What is an AST?

To start the tenancy on a legal footing , you’ll need an up-to-date contract signed by all parties: landlord, tenants, estate agents and guarantors. Most rental contracts in the UK are called Assured Shorthold Tenancies (AST).

Assured Shorthold Tenancies were introduced by the Housing Act 1988. Despite being a legal document , not all ASTs are the same. Most tenancy agreements tend to look similar, there can be a lot of variation in language and structure.

Different Types of AST

Here you can download Find My Hive templates for AST . It is the rental agreement we use with our RENT YOUR PROPERTY free package. It incorporates the latest legal changes in the UK housing law and it is currently used by more than 1000 tenancies across the UK.

Choose whether to use a sample of our tenancy agreements for whole properties such as houses and flats or the samples for shared house tenancy agreements.

The tenancy agreements are completely free with our RENT YOUR PROPERTY offer for newly registered landlords and our GOLD PACKAGE designed for estate agents and property management companies with a mid to large property portfolios.
